A collector’s set for Motul Powersport: four enamel pins, one bike for each partner — MV Agusta, RSD Super Hooligan, Ural and Sherco — in a black soft-touch box. 500 sets, from design to delivery.

The brief

Four partners, one set

Motul Powersport works with motorcycle makers and builders. Motul wanted one gift that honours each of those partnerships and still feels like a single collection — the kind of thing people keep on a desk, not in a drawer.

RSD Super Hooligan

Roland Sands won the 1998 AMA 250GP title, then moved from racing to building bikes, and opened Roland Sands Design in California in 2005. In 2017 RSD launched the Super Hooligan National Championship: flat-track racing on big production street bikes. Sands has used Motul since his 250GP days in 1993, and in 2016 it became a worldwide partnership. The pin carries the RSD logo, the SUPER HOOLIGAN lettering, MOTUL on the tank and the gold exhaust.

MV Agusta

MV Agusta began in 1945 at Cascina Costa, near Milan. The Agusta family built aircraft, and when that was banned after the war, they turned to motorcycles. From 1952 their racers won world titles, and Giacomo Agostini became the rider most linked with the name. In 2016 Motul became the factory oil for every MV Agusta. The pin shows a superbike in red, black and white, with the MV Agusta emblem on the side and MOTUL on the fairing.

Ural

Ural goes back to 1941 and the M-72, a military motorcycle with a sidecar. That autumn the factory moved east to Irbit, into an old brewery, and the sidecar has defined the brand ever since. In 2018 Motul became Ural’s official lubricant partner, and the two built a one-off bike at the Irbit plant, shown at Wheels & Waves in Biarritz. On the pin, the Ural emblem is a metal disc on the sidecar, next to the MOTUL lettering.

Sherco

Marc Teissier, a former professional trials rider, founded Sherco in Catalonia, Spain, in 1998 to build trials bikes. A few years later came a second plant in Nîmes, France, now the head office and home of the enduro bikes. Motul worked with the team at the Dakar for several years before the two signed a global deal in 2020 that puts Motul in every new Sherco at the factory. The pin shows an enduro bike in neon yellow and blue, with SHERCO along the side and MOTUL down the fork.

The box

The set comes in a black soft-touch box: matte, with a velvety feel. On the lid, MOTUL is stamped in red metallic foil, and POWERSPORT is pressed into the lid in plain gloss, with no foil. Inside are the four pins and a card for each partnership, with its story and a QR code.

One at a time

Each pin also came on its own card, so it could be given separately.

In the hand

Each pin is 50 mm wide, big enough to show every line of the bike. The edges are polished nickel, with a metal butterfly clutch on the back.
